Youth Mental Health First-Aid training program

June 01-- Jun. 1--BEMIDJI -- A two-day training program for Youth Mental Health First-Aid will be held from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Monday, June 10, and Tuesday, June 11, at First Assembly Church, 1015 Fourth St. SE. Mental Health First-Aid is an eight-hour public education program that introduces participants to the risk factors and warning signs of mental health problems in adolescents, builds understanding of the importance of early intervention and teaches individuals how to help an adolescent in crisis or experiencing a mental health challenge. The program uses role-playing and simulations to demonstrate how to assess a mental health crisis; select interventions and provide initial help; and connect young people to professional, peer, social and self-help care.

Cost to attend is $100, pre-register by Monday, June 3 at www.mentalhealthusa.org.
