Honor WWII veterans on 75th anniversary of D-Day

The Daily Herald - 6/5/2019

Thursday, June 6 is the 75th anniversary of D-Day when the Western Allies joined forces in order to free France, and eventually Europe, from the Nazi occupation during WWII.

This was the first day of a very long battle. I felt the need to write as I noticed on my calendar that this day isn't even noted on it! Needless to say, I was very distressed to discover this so wrote it in myself. I ask everyone to take a moment that day and reflect on what all these military personnel did for us and the rest of the world.

Freedom isn't free and this is only one instance that proves this. If you know anyone that is a WWII veteran please take the time that day to personally thank them for their service and for defending our freedom, as well as the freedom for others in other countries. I salute you and want to extend my thanks to you, especially since the generation who served during that era is getting smaller and smaller. On June 6, my flag will be flying high in honor of all of you that served.

Thank you and God bless!
