Richard Bland College venue for Southern Knights Cruisers Veterans Car Show: Over 300 beauties

PETERSBURG - Car enthusiasts and shopaholics are in for a treat! The 21st annual Southern Knights Cruisers Veterans Car and Bike Show will be held on October 2 at Richard Bland College.

There is no admission fee and spectators can view over 300 show cars, monster trucks, and bikes. This open show attracts the highest quality show cars from Virginia, Maryland, and North Carolina.

If you love vendor and craft shows, you can shop - in the shade of RBC's pecan grove - till you drop.

"This year, we will have more vendors than ever before," said Ricky Williams, President of the Southern Knights Cruisers. "You don't want to miss it."

Attendees who work up an appetite from viewing all the fantastic vehicles and browsing all the vendor merchandise will be able to purchase a bite to eat from a variety of food trucks.

The first 250 participants will receive an event dash plaque, and over 120 awards will be presented in the following Classes: Early - 1959, 1960 - 1969, 1970 - 1999, and 2000 - present.

There will be a special Children's Judging category. Kids will judge vehicles for Special Awards, such as Best Engine, Best Interior, Best Paint, Best Electrical/Horn Sound, and Best Detail/Detailed. Children and vehicle owners wishing to take part in this event should contact 804-691-7656, if interested.

Pre-register your vehicles until September 26th for $20. On the day of the show, the registration fee is $25. Download the form to register at southernknightscruisers.com. Vendor registration forms are also available on the website.

This year's show will include an opening ceremony with a special performance by the Colonial Heights American Legion Post 284 Color Guard.

The Namozine/EMS Fire Department as well as the Virginia State Police will be in attendance.

The event will also include a silent auction and a raffle drawing for a Chevy 350 Crate Engine donated by Strosnider Chevrolet. Raffle tickets can be obtained by contacting a club member at 804-691-3754.

The car shows sponsored by the Southern Knights Cruisers Car Club partnering with Strosnider Chevrolet have raised $400,000 so far.

All proceeds from the show that is dedicated to our Country's military veterans will be shared with the Fisher House, McGuire Veterans Hospital, Fort Lee'sHoliday Helper Association, and RBC's SKC Scholarship Fund.

Registration starts at 8 a.m., the opening ceremony is at 11 a.m., and the event ends at 5 p.m.Richard Bland College of William & Mary is located at 11301 Johnson Road in Petersburg.
